Meltdown

So, it's true! I had my first official breakdown as a mother of twins the other night.  It was the usual evening where at 10 my girls thought it was day time and were wide awake and very fussy with tummy aches!  Just when I'd get one settled down, and get into bed, the other would start crying hysterically.  And if it wasn't one it was both! So by 2 am I had just about had it.  I was holding a crying baby in the recliner, then of course in the other room the other girl starts screaming.  So i did what any smart mom would do, I started crying with them.  Yup, 3 of us crying, it was a beautiful night.  So my cute husband (whom I was trying to let sleep cuz he wasn't feeling well) came and got both the girls, shut my bedroom door and kept them out of the room for a few hours.  I think that was the best 3 hours of sleep EVER.
But the good news is I still totally love my girls! :)

Hey guys, Brett and I just want to say congratulations . . . TWICE!!! They are so adorable, and I loved your story about crying with them. I had a night like that with Maddi once when she was little and . . . YES, I cried too, and my cute husband did the same thing yours did. Aren't we lucky to have such good hubbies :) Can't wait to see them when you are in Richfield. Glad all is well and everyone is healthy and happy!

I am surprised it did not happen before now. I broke down several times with my boy and I only had one to worry about. You are a trooper!!

I'm sorry Mar, that sucks, I can only imagine how hard it is with two. I'd say you did pretty good waiting this long to have a breakdown...it happened to me in the first two weeks of having Carter home. It does get easier though. Let me know if you need anything.

I give you tons of credit. I'm freaking out with one baby. I don't know how you do it. By the way they are adorable babies!

Oh Mar I am so sorry, but I am sure it was bound to happen. I have had my fair share of break downs with just one baby, so I could not even imagine what I would be like with two.

Girl you are amazing if this is your first! Every night was a meltdown for me and I only had one crying baby! Your girls are so cute and you look so good!

That is the wonderful thing about being a mom you still love them even when they are driving you crazy!

Marion - Not sure if you remember me, but I work with Ryan and he has kept me updated about your twins. I just want to tell you that they are ADORABLE! Your story of crying with your twins brought back lots of memories. I had twins, too (who are now 31) plus a 3 year old when they were born. There were many nights of tears, but just hang in there. It does get easier!

Oh - and tell Dane to tell his mom hello for me. I went to school with Tresha. She'll remember me! :)

oh you brought back memories!!! I'm sorry, and I hope you are having better luck with sleeping. That is what is hard about two, one is always awake! if I can give you ANY hope, I really felt a 180 turn at 4 months and I felt like I could breath again... they got easier! hope it happens for you, maybe a little later because yours are smaller but hopefully that will make you feel better, at least for one day right!? They are adorable. just wait until they start smiling at you and then it all seems worth it! take naps when you can, and if you have a bad night, it helps a lot. good luck!

I am a friend of Caseys and I have 4 month old twin boys! It is okay to have meltdowns sometimes!! I promise it gets easier as they get a little older. But twins are the best!!

Your babies are so so cute! I panic when the babies cry at the same time so I feel for you. Isn't it crazy we both have twins! I am still surprised that Doriann isn't having twins. I think she should go in again to make sure.

That's funny cause they were only here at my house for 4 hours and I cried for 2 of them. You two are great parents. Love you both.
